| ** WHAT ABOUT MOTHERS YOU SAY! ** |
| 05.11.08 (6:19 pm) [edit] |
First of all I would like to wish all mothers on this day a Happy's Mother Day! As I think of all the mothers this day that have made so many sacrifices for their children, I wonder how my mother would have celebrated this holiday. Not ever really knowing my mother at all, I often think back about the times when I use to ask my father whatever happened to my mother and where was she when I was just a child.
My fathers' well rehearsed response was always the same "I don't want to talk about it and don't ever mention "that" name in this house ever again. Well after a few years this became more and more like the sound of a broken record, and all us kids just became deaf to this answer and just stopped asking questions. The only time that I ever gave my mother a thought was when other peoples' kids referred to their mothers and fathers and made me feel like the b-----d that I was! Imagine being 7 years old and having kids your own age call you this. I wouldn't exactly call it boosting my confidence level would you?I still wonder today at times where did these kids ever learn these kinds of words and how did they know to apply that word to my circumstances. During the era that I was born and raised no one really talked so openly as now about what was considered then a social taboo sort of thing. I could always hear them whisper as I walked by them whether during "recess" or on the way to and fro from school, and they would point at me but pretend that they were discussing something else.Since that day when we met as a group, we brothers rarely if ever talk about what ever happened to our mother and although years later one of my brothers located our mother by pure chance, I became the only one in the family not to have seen and visited my mother who at one time lived less than an hour's drive from where my home was located. Now I would be the first one to confess that perhaps I should have visited my mother while she was still alive, but my curiosity never reached a point enough to push me to go see her.So what I would like to say in conclusion to all kids who feel that they would be better off without their parents and especially their mothers, you only have one mother in your lifetime so take heed and be grateful for the fact that your mother is there for you and treat her kindly for you to as well live only one lifetime! & nbsp; &n bsp; &nb sp; &nbs p;   ; & nbsp; Timm17

Mothers are the fibers that hold this crazy world together.

Oh my goodness, Timm!
I feel so sorry that you were raised without your mother's love. I cannot begin to imagine how such a thing could happen.
I have a nephew on my hubby's side of the family who raised his 2-y/o daughter when his wife 'walked away' ~ at that time I was shocked that she could do such a thing. The nephew did a fantastic job of raising the daughter himself.
So your father raised four sons alone ~ that is quite a job and he should be very proud.
((hugs))

I'm so sorry you had to go through that Timm - If she had only known you, I know she would have been so very proud of you - You are a very kind and caring person
